Stella Bloch, Fred Astaire and Ginger Roger. Exhibited: Wehye, Montrose, and Macy galleries in NYC; Doll & Richards Gal., Boston, 1920s-30s; S. Ross Gal., NYC, 1932; 1st Int'l Jazz Festival, 1962; Schomberg Center, 1982; Beaux-Arts Gal., Woodbury, CT, 1997 (retrospective), 2000. She was one of Isadora Duncan's six original dance pupils, and continued to teach Duncan dance throughout the 1920s. During this period she also made trips to the Far East and learned Balinese, Hindu, Japanese, and Javanese court dances. Her life in dance was reflected in her art. She also sketched and painted many of the dancers, musicians, and singers of the Harlem nightclubs. By the 1930s she was a writer and director in Hollywood. During the 1940s she resumed painting street life in Harlem. Her drawings of a Ballanchine ballet appeared in Dance Magazine (1953). FR 22.5 X 18.25. -artpriceFR 23.5 X 23.5.
