(1767 - 1845) Seventh President of the United States, 'Old Hickory' became a national hero in his defense of New Orleans and as president encouraged Western expansion and paid off the national debt. Manuscript D.S. as President, 1p. roughly 24 x 28 in., Washington D.C., September 28, 1830, rare variation of a General Land Office grant with entirely handwritten letterhead and text.
