Description
(1906-1990) U.S. Air Force general who implemented a controversial bombing campaign against Japan in the late stages of World War II, later Chief of Staff of the U.S Air Force and running mate with pro-segregation candidate George Wallace in the 1968 presidential election. Large signed limited edition print titled 'Lest We Forget' by artist William S. Phillips, 34 x 22.5 in. (sight), color, a collage image of seven different illustrations showing planes in flight including the P-51, P-47, P-38, B-17, B-24, B-26, and the F-11. Lemay signs below the center image. Also signed by six other pilots of the 8th Air Force. Matted and framed. Very fine condition.
