The early 20th century large format photogravure image printed by John Andrew & Son on cream wove paper is numbered plate 333 from the portfolio The North American Indian, volume 10, The Kwakiutl.
Image size 15 x 10, frame measures 24.75 x 19 inches.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.
In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org). Apparently the condition is very good, very clean, intact, no visible stain, damage, repair, punctures or tears. This work has not been examined outside the frame.
