Description

Size about 6-6 1/4 with flat top oval from band, 2.5mm thick. Oval bezel with four point Star of Bethlehem motif. Thick edge decorated in a series of circular punched. The underside radially fluted. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.104 bottom left for a similar ring describes as "possibly talismanic". That ring is decorated with a "spider web" motif. The contrast of the two rings blurs the line between Christianity and pagan beliefs which carried on and are still with us today in the form of superstitions. At that time either would have served as a spiritual aid. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
