Description
For your consideration is an expressive mixed media on paper, depicting a trio of figures, and hand signed by Yisrael Feldsott. This drawing was acquired from a curator and gallery owner from Los Angeles with a collection of artworks ranging from Barry McGee to Picasso. Dimensions: 23.25w x 29.25w (framed). In excellent condition. Yisrael K. Feldsott (1954-) is an American Postwar & Contemporary artist from California. Described as the precursor to Basquit and the Neo-expressionist movement, Feldsott was an early pioneer of the aesthetics of street art, creating a stylistic blend of graffiti and indigenous art. In the late 1970's, Feldsott was known as one of the few fine artists to combine modern and street art, which caught the attention of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Feldsott went on to become the youngest artist to ever exhibit his work at SFMoMA. By 1978, Feldostt was an artist on the rise with multiple solo and group shows but in 1980, disillusionment with the business side of the art world led Feldsott to stop exhibiting or selling his work. His work has been featured in several exhibitions at key galleries and museums, including the Paul Mahder Gallery and the b. sakata garo.
