Yao Robe, China, Early-Mid 20th C. Open front and sides, short sleeved robe with full length back, front panels devolving into long tie elements with embroidered ends. Embroidery at collar, completely covering sleeve fabric and forming wide solid band at hem. Hand woven cotton tabby cloth, silk thread; embroidery. Yao People, Northern Guangdong Province, Liannan County, China. Size: 73'' x 31'', 185 x 79 cm (including ties). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
