After Guercino (Italian, 1591-1666)

The Persian Sibyl
Unsigned, with a small gummed label inscribed "Dr. Sven Paulin" on the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 51 1/2 x 34 1/2 in. (130.0 x 87.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Lined, craquelure with areas of lifting, small puncture l.r., loosening of lining at u.l. corner, accretions, surface grime.

N.B. This is a copy close to scale of the original painted for conte Carlo Rondinelli, Governor of Guercino's native Cento, in 1647, which is now in the Pinacoteca Capitolina in Rome.
Condition
Condition: Framed dimensions are 60 1/4 x 43 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches.

The lining feels quite early, at least 19th century and possibly earlier.
