Harry Potter, London, an early 19th century verge fusee doctors watch, key wound and set, gilt full plate movement with diamond endstone, hacking seconds, pierced and engraved balance cock, Tompion regulator with engraved plate, and straight baluster pillars, in a sterling silver pair case with London hallmark and date letter for the year 1801, roman numeral white enamel dial with upper hour and minute chapter, intersecting with a large seconds bit below, gold hands, serial #27634, 57mm.
Condition
CASE: Inner and outer cases with a few minor dents and dings; Very fine scratches on outer surface of cases; Outer case catch replaced, and with extra rivet hole; Small hole in case back at edge about 50 - 60 degrees from catch rivet; Bow and pendant with wear; Crystal with scratches; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Chips at center arbor; crack and narrow edge losses at bottom of dial. HANDS: Minute replaced; Seconds with minor loss at tail. Movement: Fine marks and scratches on plate; Top plate marred from re riveting follower; Dirty; Dust cap with gaps at balance cock.
