Greg Hildebrandt (1939 - ): An American born artist who has won many awards as an illustrator, including the Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators. He created promotional material for Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings as well as art for 100s of books. Hildebrandt drew much inspiration as a child, from the comic books of this era, which served as his first lesson in anatomy. But the greatest influence of all on Hildebrandt was Walt Disney, and he dreamt of being a Disney Illustrator. Although that never came to fruition, Hildebrandt was an accomplished painter, animator and filmmaker. Today his work is on display in many prestigious collections where it is admired by critics and collectors alike.
