BOGATSCH RUDOLF: (1891-1970) German Luftwaffe General of World War II, Knight's Cross winner. Vintage signed postcard photograph of Bogatsch in a head and shoulders pose wearing his uniform and Knight's Cross. Photograph by Heinrich Hoffmann of Munich. Signed ('Bogatsch') in black fountain pen ink at the base of the image. The signature is very slightly affected by previous damp staining. Together with a D.S., Bogatsch, one page, 4to, n.p., 3rd September 1941, in German. Bogatsch responds to a communication forwarded to him by Colonel Brunner on 30th August 1941 and states, in full, 'I support the recommendation warmly. Colonel Lohmann already holds the combat aviation clasp (bronze). For his personal commitment in the Western campaign, he was given improved seniority'. Two file holes, some creasing and light staining to the left edge, not affecting the text or signature.
