WAFFEN-SS: A slim oblong 8vo piece individually signed by Josef 'Sepp' Dietrich (1892-1966) German politician and SS-Oberst-Gruppenfuhrer and Generaloberst of the Waffen-SS during World War II. Knight's Cross winner with Diamonds. Dietrich was convicted of war crimes at the Malmedy massacre trial, Wilhelm Bittrich (1894-1979) German SS-Obergruppenfuhrer and General der Waffen-SS of World War II, Knight's Cross winner with Oakleaves and Swords. Bittrich commanded the 2nd SS Panzer Corps in Normandy and during Operation Market Garden, and Heinz Lammerding (1905-1971) German SS-Gruppenfuhrer, Knight's Cross winner. Lammerding commanded the SS Panzer Division Das Reich that perpetrated two massacres in occupied France for which he was convicted in absentia following the end of the war. Each have signed the piece with their surnames only, Bittrich and Lammerding in bold pencil. Evidently neatly clipped from the conclusion of an official document and with their ranks etc. added in typescript. Lightly mounted to the base of an oblong A4 sheet of paper featuring reproduction images of all three in head and shoulders poses wearing their uniforms. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, VG
