Condition
The overall condition is very good structurally with the following:
Structural:
The side handle leather has detached on one side and the Vuittonite lining has started to split behind the lock plate but is still mostly intact.
Losses:
The top lid hinges have worn through the canvas that was atop them which appears very rough.
Fading/Color Change:
The interior lining has darkened from age and use.
Soiling/Spots:
There are multiple scratches throughout the case though most noticeable along the stamped leather trims. The canvas on the hard case side of the trunk has some larger scratches and scrapes, mostly along the bottom facing when stood upright.
Corrosion/Tarnish:
The gold-tone finish on the hardware has worn away to reveal a dull brass underneath. Everything is sold 'As Is'. The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use. The absence of any reference to the condition of a lot does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. All other condition issues are stated above. To request additional working condition photos, please contact us directly with the lot number. Condition is a matter of opinion of the evaluator and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Clients must review and agree to the Conditions of Sale before participating in an auction.
