Shimmering Mongolian Tapestry of a very rare type. Machine woven in the 20th century, this is nonetheless a rare, beautiful, and very desirable object. I've only seen two related examples in the past 25 years. One other is currently listed on my website: #7125. When I got this (along with 7125), it was very dark and hard to see the image, and it did not shine at all. I did what I've never done before and had it cleaned, and was blown away when I picked it up--you can see the results below. Both were transformed into the bright vivid images you see before you. The material is synthetic. I am guessing from 50 to 70 years ago they were made for devotion under Russian rule. Would look incredible framed. Measures 16.25 inches x 21 inches.
