According to the artist, both models depicted in the present work were once models for the clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch. (unpublished letter, September 18, 2021)

The canvas is unlined and retains its original stretchers. The paint surface is dirty. There is very minor frame abrasion visible along the extreme edges. Upon inspection under ultraviolet light, though some of the white and orange pigments fluoresce, these appear original to the artist's hand. There are no visibly apparent signs of inpainting or other forms of restoration.

Note that the frame is nailed in place to the tacking edges and stretchers.
