4 x 5 3/4 in. albumen cabinet photograph on cardboard mount (minor fading). Photographer's imprints to recto and verso with additional Haynes Studios stamp from Bozeman, MT.
A three-quarters studio portrait of Curley, a scout to George Custer and survivor of the Battle of Little Big Horn. The Crow scout was the first to report on the 7th Cavalry's defeat. He wears his hair in two braids with feathers, earrngs, a bandana wrapped around his neck with a slide, and a blanket wrapped around his shoulders.
