OF CRIMEAN WAR INTEREST A 1798 PATTERN OFFICER'S BASKET HILT WITH PRESENTATION INSCRIPTION, 60.5cm broad sword blade etched with various panels, GORDON HIGHLANDERS, WARRANTED and Presented to Macintosh Esq by the officers and men as a mark of resepect following his gallant conduct in the Crimea. 6th May 1855, regulation brass hilt composed of flattened rounded bars united by plain and pierced junction plates, wire bound fishskin grip, red-faced chamois liner, contained in its brass mounted leather scabbard.
