Description
An antique Russian lacquer tea caddy in papier-mache technique with a bronze-gilt medallion on the lid. The medallion made by Leopold Heuberger in Vienna depicts a double portrait of the Russian Imperial Couple Alexander I and Marie Auguste of Baden, later known as Elizabeth Alexeievna, Empress of Russia, facing each other. Signed in Cyrillic and dated 1814. On the lid interior, there is a mark referred to the workshop of O. Vishnyakov, the 1870s.
