Catalog Note:
Luse was a student and later an assistant of Edris Eckhardt (1905-1998), another Cleveland artist well known for producing WPA figures based on classic stories or historical events. Often these charming figures were given to Cleveland area schools as teaching aids. In this figural grouping, Luse has given Lincoln’s brown hair a decidedly reddish tint.

Condition

Tiny glaze nicks on top of the umbrella and atop young Lincoln's head. Fine overall crazing. No other chips, cracks or repairs.
