The surface of the picture is covered with the special varnish that provides a look of antique painting. The wooden frame is sandblasted which results in antique wood effect. The inner part of the frame has an antique gold surface. Such "antique style," artistic 'time travel,' was a part of the 1980s-1990s Post-Modern culture, and continues to be popular. Fabrice de Villeneuve (born 1954) is French-Canadian artist. He lives and works in Montreal. In the 1980s-1990s, his art was represented by the Galerie Un Autre Regard, Paris, France. Fabrice de Villeneuve's distinguished art is significantly influenced by his longstanding love of antiques. Following the tradition of the 17th and 18th centuries, his favorite subjects are trompe-l'oeil, floral and interior scenes.
