Description
Bronze Medal, struck by Tiffany and Co, Brenner did the medal in 1914. The Samuel Putnam Avery Library was erected in 1912 in honor of his son, Henry Ogden Avery, an architect who died in 1890. The obverse of the medal shows Avery facing left with wording engraved around the edge "Presented to Samvel Pvtnam Avery By His Friends By His Friends and Architects of New York". The edge has Tiffany & Co Bronze. The reverse has the Avery Library and then, surrounded by two wreaths " Fovnded By Samvel Pvtnam Avery And Mary Ogden Avery 1890 Completed by Samvel Pvtnam Avery Their Son 1912 Smedley #102. Obtained May 1983 Johnson & Jensen Lot 427 envelope included.
