L.G. Balfour Co. (American). Extremely scarce commemorative tribute medallion charm coin commissioned by and struck for NASA for distribution to space industry employees who worked on missions. Commemorates astronauts Neil Armstrong (American, 1930-2012) and David Scott (American, born 1932), and the Gemini VIII mission, in March 1966, which conducted the first docking of two spacecraft in orbit. The mission suffered the first critical in-space system failure of a U.S. spacecraft, threatening the lives of the astronauts, who returned safely to Earth. Good overall condition, normal wear.
