Description
Railroad conductor's lantern with intact clear glass globe and // O.S.L // stamped into the hood of the lantern. In case someone asks, the globe is not the extended version. The glass of the globe is embossed with // O.S. L. //, and has a helical swirl encircling the glass from top to bottom that occurred during the molding process. The Oregon Short Line Railroad was organized in 1881 as a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Railway to be the shortest service between Wyoming and Oregon. In the early 1900s, OSL promoted tours of Yellowstone National Park. The Oregon Short line became fully integrated with the Union Pacific in 1987. this lamp is about 10 inches tall, 7 inches across the base and in good condition without bends or dents.
