For many years the figurehead was mounted to the gable of their Chadds Ford home.

Patricia "Tish" Hewitt was the great, great granddaughter of John Deere, founder of the company bearing his name. Her husband, William Alexander Hewitt, served as President (1955-1964) and Chairman (1964-1982) of Deere & Company of Moline, Illinois and as U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica from 1982-1985.
