A transfer-decorated creamware jug Probably Liverpool, England, circa 1800
(H: 9 1/2 in. W: 6 in. L: 8 1/2 in.)
One side bearing scene representing American military and commercial success, surrounded by inscription, "By Virtue and Valour, We Have Freed Our Country, Extended Our Commerce, And Laid the Foundation of a Great Empire," the other side bearing memorial to George Washington, surrounded by Justice and Liberty and border listing colonies with stars.
