Note: This open arm chair or a bergere a oreilles is a copy of a chair in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (1929-81-2) attributed to Benjamin Randolph (1737-1791) and with carving attributed to John Pollard (1740-1787). The chair was purchased from the Howard Reifsnyder Sale, American Art Association, New York, April, 1929.

presents well, in good overall condition, with expected wear and rubbing to gilding and arms/frame commensurate with age and use; left-facing back leg with repaired break; upholstery in overall clean and good condition
