Haon was employed by E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company, and was promoted in 1954 to the Foreign Relations Department as Manager of the European Office, London, England, until his retirement in 1962. Mr. Haon continued to live part-time in London into the late 1970s.
Condition
Wonderful figuring to wood throughout; signs of wear and use commensurate with age; top with old age cracks, three circular patches, and a few water rings; molding with some roughness and some minor loss to back left edge, and possibly reattached/pinned; old age cracks to sides, with the one on the right-facing side being prominent; back left-facing foot with broken/missing wood section to bottom of facing; right-facing feet with repaired breaks to foot facings; hardware probably replaced; patch to drawer face corner on top most drawer and bottom most drawer; two drawers with losses to corners; left front applied molding is loose and needs reinforcement; backboards appear to be original, but are bowing, and top one is coming detached from nails
