ILLUSTRATED MANUSCRIPT LETTER TO OSBERT SITWELL, 1931. A manuscript letter, written by an unknown hand in black ink, across a hand-drawn, colour illustration of a vase of flowers, 25 x 16.3cm, within a grey mount, 'Dearest Osbert. How happy / we all were today! thank you for a / time to remember - when we were so / gay. giving (ish) and lovely (ish) / and witty. Osbert / Cecil / Hazel / Sachy / Syrie / Christabel / July 20th 1931. / Really lovely collection of names: like a sweet bouquet of flowers - only lovelier and / more lasting'. Those listed in the letter included Osbert Sitwell, Cecil Beaton, Sacheverell Sitwell, Hazel Lavery, Syrie Maugham and Christabel Aubrey, framed and glazed. Provenance: The Sitwell Family, Weston Hall.
