Two American coin silver serving pieces consisting of a mid 19th century coin silver soup ladle in the 'Threaded Oval' pattern, the reverse bearing marks for Bailey, Kettle & Chapman, the handle monogrammed on the reverse, measuring 11.25" long, weight 147 grams, (no listing found for this maker at the time of cataloguing, however there is a Thomas Kettle listed as working in Charleston, Massachusetts, 1760-1850), together with a monogrammed coin silver sugar shovel with a lobed foliate embossed bowl, the reverse bearing maker's marks for Wood & Hughes, New York City (1840-60), weight, 27 grams. Combined weight, 174 grams.
