Description
A late 19th century German silver (.800 fine) travelling mirror, showing a lobed & flattened oval body centred by an engraved armorial crest seemingly for Von WENDT, beneath a Freifrau (Baroness) Coronet, opening to a plain interior fitted with a hinged mirror, engraved with the name Caroline in script. Maker's mark not visible but purportedly by silversmith J.C. Osthues, Munster-Westphalia. Measuring 8" x 5.75", combined weight including mirror, 676 grams.

Condition noted, mirrored plate distressed.
