Description
Two Naval cutlass short swords, model 1841, NP Ames, Springfield. This pair of swords were found in a Victorian mansion in Nyack belonging to the Mann family, Mr Mann was a direct descendant from General Jonas Mann, General of the Vermont State Militia, General Mann was born in 1771, and died in 1831, General Mann's masonic apron is listed under lot # 176 in this catalog. Swords have rust on the blades, "J.L", "N.W.P", "W.G.J" stamped in brass. Total length is 26.5", blade is 21 2/8".
