Frame dimensions 19 x 22 1/8 in.
Marie-Lucie Nessi-Valtat was encouraged by her father-in-law, Louis Valtat, to paint. She studied at the Académie de La Grande Chaumière and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Through her father-in-law, she was introduced to such well known artists as Andre Lhote, Moise Kissling and Foujita at the renowned café Montparnasse.
Nessi-Valtat is best known for her post-impressionist still life paintings. Her works were exhibited at numerous prominent galleries, including Wally Findlay and others.
