Description
CUT OVERLAY STAR AND QUATREFOIL STAND LAMP, shaded white cut to starch blue pyriform font, starch blue Baroque base, brass connector, No. 2 fine line collar. Fitted with a period set-up comprising an E. F. Jones No. 2 lip burner, thumbwheel marked "E. F. JONES PATENT. JANUARY 11, 1859" and with wing symbol, with a Merrill's air director, marked "R. S. MERRILL PATENT JUNE 14. 1859", standard 5" stamped shade ring with coining, and an engraved and frosted Oregon shade with stylized leaves. Non-period lip chimney. Lamp: Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. Shade: Probably Mt. Washington Glass Co. Second half 19th century. 22 1/2" H to top of shade, 13 5/8" H to top of collar, 5 5/8" SQ base. Shade 7 7/8" H, 4 7/8" D fitter.
