Description
For your consideration is an exceedingly rare signed Jorge Wilmot Tonala pottery charger. This massive charger measures 13 1/4" in diameter and has a central medallion depicting a vaquero on a horse jumping over an agave. Outside this medallion are all over geometric and traditional flourishes that pack the top surface with decorative appeal. The octagonal charger is marked just above the horses right leg with the "W." mark for Wilmot and the backside shows an unglazed foot which is also typical of Wilmot's wares. This stunning piece weighs 2 pounds, 4.4 ounces.
