Description
Born in New Washington, OH on Aug. 26, 1888. Elsie Brown studied at the Columbus Art Institute. She wed Henry Grossman in 1911 and settled in Los Angeles in 1927. Locally, she further studied with G. Thompson Pritchard and Nell Walker Warner. She was active in the local art scene as an exhibitor of coastals and landscapes. Mrs. Grossman died in Los Angeles of cancer of the uterus on Dec. 22, 1949. Member: Women Painters of the West; Santa Monica AA; Las Artistas; Artists of the SW.
