Description
Yu Youren (Yu Yu-Jen) (Chinese, 1879-1964). Ink on paper. c. 1946. Sight: 14" x 31 1/2". Frame: 15 3/4" x 33". Calligraphy presented to Dean Carl W. Ackerman of the Columbia School of Journalism by Mr. Lu Keng, Chinese War Correspondent, SHAEF, on behalf of Yu Yu-Jen, of Nanking, China. Presented on January 29, 2946. The calligraphy is "The Spring and Autumn" by Confucius. Paper on reverse of calligraphy stating the provenance. Yu Youren signature to left.
Condition
