North America, Native American, ca. 17th to 18th century CE. A dazzling ensemble 58 trade beads - 24 tubular glass, 5 spherical ceramic, and 29 biconical leaded brass - arranged in a lovely alternating pattern and strung on a modern strand to be wearable. Each material of bead presents a different color with the ceramic beads enveloped in a lustrous white glaze, the glass beads boasting a translucent shade of blue, and the leaded brass beads displaying a metallic shade of gold with a few beads nicely speckled with light green patina, all adding variation to the piece.
