Ancient Near East, Middle East, Syria to Northern Iraq, Proto-Literate Period, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE. An attractive leaded bronze stamp seal bead with a discoid head and protruding cylindrical handle pierced with an annular drill hole. The face is adorned with a lovely design of geometric patterns in a provincial style from Anatolia. Size: 0.8" in diameter (2 cm); 2.3" H (5.8 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private Zaveloff collection, Lakewood, New Jersey, USA, acquired from Venus Gallery, Israel, in 2002
