Other Notes: Abbott Lawrence (1792-1855), born in Groton, Massachusetts, came to be a prominent businessman, philanthropist, and politician. Abbott was the founder of Lawrence, Massachusetts and was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts's 1st district from 1835 – 1837.
