This beautifully carved shell cameo is bezel-set in a substantial gold-filled mounting. The lady is wearing a 14K yellow gold necklace that replaced the original piece, long ago lost. This was professionally replaced. The brooch is fitted with a tube-hinged pin-back and "C" clasp. There is no maker's mark.
