Description

Scarce doesn't begin to tell the story. Pair of Union Army Issue "bootees" or "Jefferson boots,". This regulation Union Army issue pair has the correct square-toes, pegged soles and nailed heels. Four unreinforced laces eyelets in each side. Two reinforcing rivets in each side of each brogan. Overall excellent, used condition showing period wear. Each has a couple tears but each is completely solid. One shoe has damage to the left side where the laces pass. See photo. Otherwise really nice and solid. Clearly stamped inside one of the shoes by the eyelets is part of a makers or inspectors cartouche with -N.Y.- clearly visible. ,br>
