Description
These two 18th-century American paintings on silk have embroidered needlework accents. They depict 2 gentlemen of leisure. One is an open-shirted young man, playing some type of horn or wind instrument, and the other is a fancily-dressed fellow lounging under a tree. The musician measures 8' tall X 7.25"across, while the lounging dandy measures 9.5" tall X 8.5" across. Both are in gilded, gessoed period frames with back-painted oval glass inserts.
