Description
Stunning graphics, bright colors and in absolute near mint condition is this Brown Forman Company distillery lithographed tin sign. Housed in a stunning, what appears to be a period correct, burl wood frame with ornate carving placed on all four corners adding to the overall appearance. Shows gentleman drinker smoking cigar, adorned in a diamond ring along a long wooden bar, with the barkeep serving the product, Brown Forman Company Whiskey. National Cash Register in the background, script says "A Pleasant Reminder", "I told you so the last trip." and "It's a credit to Old Kentucky.". There is one 3/4" scratch in the upper right-hand corner, some very light surface scratching in the upper left-hand corner, none of which distracts from this powerful image. Stamped in the bottom left-hand corner "Chas. W. Shonk Co. Litho, Chicago.". Founded in 1870 the Brown Forman Co. is still in operation today and donates generously to many charitable causes. This is a very rare iconic saloon advertisement and would be a fantastic addition to any collection. Condition: (9.2). Dimensions: Frame: 28 - 1/4" x 35 - 1/2".
