Notes typed by Louis Pierre Ledoux on 1932 R. Firth's field notes, and 1910 C.G. Seligmann's "The Mels of British N.G..."

Typed notes entitled "Field Method: notes from R. Firth on 1st Nov. 1932" covering topics such as 'Actual Field Methods', 'Home Method', Genealogical Method'. More notes entitled "Field Work. General Plan. Mostly from R.F. (who obtained better part of it from Barnislaw Malinowslni [sic])".
More notes entitled "C.G. Seligmann - The Mel's of Brit. N.G. - Camb. 1910". Total of 74 pages of typed notes cover is falling apart and crumbled.

Raymond W. Firth was a New Zealand social anthropologist known for his studies of the Maori people of New Zealand, as well as the Tikopai of Solomon Islands. He obtained his doctorate from the London School of Economics in 1929 where he also become professor emeritus. He was knighted in 1973. C. G. Seligmann was a British anthropologist, known for his work "The Melanesians of British New Guinea" (1910). In 1910 he served as lecturer in ethnology at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
