8 gelatin silver print photographs in 5 clear plastic album leaves. the photos mainly 13.5x9 cm (5x3½"). 

Snapshots depict Steinbeck and his second wife Gwyn in humorous costumed poses each with embossed stamp "John Steinbeck" on front. Five with printed ink captions on verso. When an amplified version of this album (12 photographs) was sold at Christies in 1996 the handwriting on reverse was attributed as "presumably in Gwyn's hand".

A few chipped corners, not substantially affecting image areas, creasing to some, one glamorous portrait of Gwyn with a few stains, one photo with number 100 on reverse; very good overall.
