Description
2 Chinese Molded Yixing Teapots; a double connected Hexagon container held with straps and with bamboo handle and spout, the cover on one with Pine branch finial and a mark to the base and inside cover; together with a 4 Sided teapot flared from the top to bottom with one side with archaistic calligraphy and a mark to base and inside cover. Width of hexagonal teapot from handle to spout 8 inches (20.3 cm.). PROVENANCE: Purchased from Alan Hartman Rare Art, NYC with priced label inside cover as "ca 1800". Property of a Long Beach, Long Island Estate sold without reserves.
Condition
Light age related wear, small flakes to edges of double hexagons with infilled chips to inside edge of cover now over-painted; small flakes or chips to teapot and cover edges, tip of spout and inside teapot edge, now with light over-painting.
