Description
A pair of Roman red-ware pottery fragments, North Africa, 4th - 5th Century AD, both from same vessel and can be re-attached to one another. The are part of the rim of a huge platter with beaded border and features a leaping panther seen in profile, the other with a leaping hound and the back side of a sheep or goat. 5 x 2 3/4 in (12.7 x 6.9 cm) & 4 1/4 x 1 5/8 in (10.8 x 4.2 cm). Both with light deposits. Ex collection of Lenny Wolf, IL; Ex Clark collection, Santa Barbara.
