Description
A strand of Egyptian faience tube bead with rare Herm amulet, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, the beads a turquoise color and the amulet in the form of a Greek Herm, a male head atop a pillar with male genitalia at the appropriate height on the front. In this form the amulet would have been worn for protection or fertility. L: 31 1/4 in (79.4cm). Ex Southern California private collection.
