**First Time At Auction**
A lot of two 19th century double page, hand-colored woodblock engravings for "Harper's Weekly" that both explore themes of the American West, including "An Avalanche in the Rocky Mountains" drawn by Barnard and Graham (published September 1, 1888) and "From Mine to Mill" drawn from a sketch by Henry R. Poore (published September 14, 1878). A spectacular pair with vivid imagery and wonderful hand coloring. Size of image (From Mine to Mill): 20.5" L x 13.75" W (52.1 cm x 34.9 cm) Size of matte: 26.5" L x 19.5" W (67.3 cm x 49.5 cm)

Condition
Both show normal toning and minor nicks and crease marks to peripheries. Centerfold of avalanche engraving is taped on verso. Imagery and hand coloring of both are vivid. "From Mine to Mill" is set in a custom matte with a protective cellophane window.
