Description
Militaria : two 19thC British Army Officer's commission certificates, dated 28th October 1871 and 16th December 1876, the first awarding the rank of Lieutenant, the second awarding the rank of Captain to Cecil William Norton, 5th Lancers (1850-1930, later Baron Rathcreedon, MP for Newington West.) Bearing the signatures of Secretaries of State for War Viscount Edward Cardwell and Earl Gathorne Hardy, and Prince George (later King George V.) Measures 16" x 12".
